Steps to Register a NEW Student Entering District 34 (HAS NEVER ATTENDED)

NOTE: These steps are for NEW students who have never attended a District 34 school before.
For steps to register students RETURNING to District 34

Step 1: Complete the New Student Application.

Step 2: After filling out an application, you will need to bring the following documents to the school office.

Required forms (All documents are in PDF format):

  • New students are required to provide an original birth certificate to the district to be photocopied.  This can be done at the schools through June 2nd or at the Administration building, 1401 Greenwood Rd. More information on Birth Certificates can be found HERE.
  • If your child will be entering grades 6-8, please fill out the Middle School Program Selection Form.

Required Health Forms (for details please read our Health Letter):

All completed health forms can be submitted online.
Heath and middle school selection forms can also be dropped off at the student's school until June 2nd. After which forms can be dropped off at the Administration building M-Th 8:30 am -4:00pm, F 8:30 am-12:00 pm or mailed to:

Step 3: Create a PowerSchool account (or link this student to your existing account) and complete online registration.

Once the school has reviewed and accepted your application you will receive an email with your Reference ID and Reference Key and a step by step guide on how to create a Parent PowerSchool Account or add your new student to your existing account.

If you already have a PowerSchool account in District 34 and cannot remember your username or password, you may use the "Forgot Username or Password?" link to recover them via email. For login assistance please email or contact the school office.

After you create your account in our PowerSchool system, please click Registration in the left-hand navigation and fill in the required information.

PLEASE NOTE: If you indicated a preferred start date on your application other than the first day of school, your school office will contact you with your student’s actual start date.

STEP 4: Pay School Fees**

For FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN, receipt of a required $360 deposit is due after registration. It may take a few hours before kindergarten fees show in EFUNDS. If applying for a FDK Waiver, payment of the deposit is due only if you are not approved for the waiver.
Your spot for full day kindergarten is not reserved until you have paid the deposit or been approved for a waiver.


  1. Go to our online web store at EFUNDS FOR SCHOOLS
  2. Login with your existing account or create a new account. You will need your student's ID# when creating an account. Your child's ID Number was included in your "application accepted" email.
  3. Click Student Fees - your student's name - add the school fees to your cart and checkout.

(A convenience fee of $2.85 for credit/debit and $1.25 for electronic check payments will be charged.)


  1. Click HERE and download/print your school's fee sheet.
  2. Drop off or mail checks to:

** If you plan to apply for Free or Reduced lunch, please do not pay fees during Registration for 1st through 8th grades.  Applications to renew or apply for free and reduced status for the upcoming year will be mailed to your home in late July or early August.  Families who do not qualify for free or reduced will receive invoices via email in the Fall.

*** If you are an veteran or active duty service member

Students of veteran or active duty service members with income at or below 200% of the federal poverty line qualify for a school fee waiver. Contact the district enrollment specialist at or (847) 998-5063 for details.

STEP 5: Complete Online Residency Verification.

Go to:
Fill out the Affirmation Letter and upload the needed documents.

Once you have finished these five steps, your registration will be complete.
